We recently decided to stop being so cheap splurge a little and get global entry for ourselves and our new bundle of joy. Aside from feeling like we’ve paid our dues and suffered enough through long security lines and terrible customs experiences (Miami International Airport, I’m looking at you!), we wanted to make it easier on ourselves as we begin to travel as a family of 3 now.

Just like working retail or customer service should be a right of passage for young adults everywhere, arriving two hours early for your international flight only to have to run to your gate because TSA took way too long should be required for anyone that considers themselves a global citizen. But I’ve been there, done that. More than once. And I’m over it.

But my absolute best piece of advice for getting through TSA faster is to not wear a belt to the airport. Period. Aside from being stuck in a belt for hours at a time in that cramped middle seat (leggings over jeans for travel, amirite?), you will forget to take the belt off and have to go through the machine again. I promise you will. So save yourself a little time and comfort and ditch the belt. What other tips would you say are a must for getting through security faster?

I’ve been playing with the idea of a track suit as a travel outfit. Comfortable yet presentable. How do you dress when you fly? Does fashion win over comfort?
